Robi (40) is an unsuccessful artist. He has been working as a musician for years but has not managed to become famous. After a quarrel, Robi starts volunteering in a hospice in order to elude prison. There he discovers the talents of the elderly inhabitants. Together they form the band “Fire” and enter the national music competition “Stars of the future”. For Robi winning the competition is an opportunity to be recognized as a musician. However, nothing goes according to plan.
“Stars of the future” is an affectionate tribute to the third generation of Albanian artists who were nearly forgotten in the past decades of social and economic transition. These creative talents, many of whom were teachers of young artists, continue to live in the margins, often struggling to survive.
